B.A., Communication, Minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
UC Santa Barbara
Francesca is an alumna of the UCSB Class of 2017 and is thrilled to return to the Department of Communication as the Undergraduate Advisor. Francesca previously worked in the UCSB College of Letters & Science as a Programs Assistant in the Transfer Student Center and ONDAS Student Center which support the needs of transfer and first-gen college students.
As a transfer student at UCSB, Francesca majored in Communication and minored in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) in the Department of Linguistics. She was also a member of a Panhellenic Greek Organization, studied abroad with the Education Abroad Program (EAP) in Florence, Italy, worked as a Peer Educator in the Transfer Student Center, and held campus internships including the Education Abroad Program Global Internship, the Pollock Theater Internship, as well as a Research Assistantship in the Department of Communication.
Francesca pursued a B.A. in Communication because she intended to have a career in marketing. She briefly worked as Marketing Intern at a local winery and although this was a wonderful experience, Francesca's campus involvement at UCSB helped her realize her passion for mentoring and working with students in higher education settings. Francesca's mission is to make navigating the university more accessible, increase retention, and to encourage students to get the most out of their undergraduate education. In her free time, Francesca likes visiting local businesses (i.e. taco spots) and writing extensive reviews on Yelp.
