Yeweon Kim is a doctoral student in the Department of Communication at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research resides at the intersection of communication effects and information behaviors, spanning the boundaries between the human-focused discipline of social science and the technical discipline of informatics. She is especially interested in usage and implications of digital media, particularly the underlying mechanisms of how ICT reshapes communication processes, social interactions, and individual behaviors. Her research also focuses on individual difference in uses of and effectiveness of online social media and news media. She has published in journals in the field of computer-mediated communication, including New Media & Society and Computers in Human Behavior.
