Dr. Cynthia Stohl, UCSB Department of Communication, and co-author Shiv Ganesh received the 2011 Outstanding Scholarship Award for Best Article, presented by the International and Intercultural Communication Division of the National Communication Association.
Dr. Walid Afifi, UCSB Department of Communication, and co-author J. L. Weiner will receive the 2011 International Communication Association and National Communication Association Health Communication Distinguished Article of the Year, an award that goes to the article published in the past ten years that has made a major impact in health communication.
Dr. Tammy Afifi has won the 2011 Bernard J. Brommel Award from the National Communication Association. This award recognizes the scholarship and academic leadership of a faculty member who has advanced family communication at the local, regional, and national level over a period of years.
