The Department of Communication ranked second in a recent study of combined number of citations to publications written by faculty members who were included in the Web of Knowledge. The analysis, conducted in February and March of 2010, was based on the combined total of the number of citations for each faculty member across all publications. The average number of citations per faculty member at UCSB is 442 for 947 publications for the 16 faculty members. Sixty universities were included in the study and the College of Communication at University of Pennsylvania-Annenberg ranked first in the study.
