Dr. Howard Giles has received the 2012 Gerald M. Phillips Award for Distinguished Applied Communication Scholarship from the National Communication Association. He has received this award for his theoretically-driven and cross-culturally validated applied research on police-citizen interaction, intergenerational communication, and editorship of a book series with more than a dozen books on a wide array of applied research. His award will be presented at the annual meeting of the National Communication Association, November 14-18, in Orlando, FL.
