Professor Karen Myers of the Department of Communication has agreed to serve as a new Associate Dean of the Graduate Division, effective July 1, 2013. Professor Myers will join Carol Genett and Associate Dean Kendall in bringing new direction and faculty leadership to the administration of graduate affairs. Professor Myers is a member of the Graduate Council and for the last year has served as the Faculty Assessment Coordinator for Graduate Education, where she has effectively overseen the development of graduate-level program learning outcomes and assessment plans in preparing for the WASC review. Her new duties in the Graduate Division will extend this work, as she will primarily facilitate UCSB’s continued engagement with graduate program outcomes, assessment, and improvement.
